Outstanding Care for Every Emergency

Emergency Department and Level 1 Trauma Center

When time is critical, expertise makes a difference. At Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital's Emergency Department the most experienced physicians are in-house 24 hours a day. In addition, all of our emergency medicine physicians are board certified and our surgeons are board certified or board eligible. Our experienced emergency services team is committed to providing around the clock, hands-on care to every patient, from admission through discharge.

The Good Samaritan Emergency Department features:

  • Board-certified emergency medicine physicians who have been a part of this community for more than 23 years.
  • Highly-trained nurses, most having Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Emergency Pediatric certification as well as trauma certification.
  • Approval by the State of Illinois to treat pediatric injuries and illnesses.
  • The only Level I Trauma facility in DuPage County.

Level 1 Trauma Center
The Level 1 Trauma Center at Good Samaritan Hospital is the only one in DuPage County, and is recognized by the Illinois Department of Public Health and The American College Surgeons. Surgical coverage is provided at the hospital 24 hours a day, and 24 hours a day out-of-house back-up by board certified Trauma Attendings. No resident coverage is provided.

Educational opportunities for trauma nurses and physicians and emergency services personnel, available through our Outreach Program, as well as an extensive Injury Prevention Program for the community.
