Bobbie Byrne is the Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Advocate Health, a 69-hospital system serving nearly six million patients in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Illinois and Wisconsin. She is responsible for all information technology applications, information security, infrastructure, clinical informatics, data warehousing and business intelligence across the system, including leading the integration of technologies for the entities that now comprise Advocate Health.

Bobbie also serves as the CEO of Advocate Physician Partners, a clinically integrated group of over 5,000 physicians across Chicagoland. In this role, she leads in pursuit of quality, safety, care coordination and superior clinical outcomes for patients through partnerships between physicians, hospitals, clinicians and payers. 

Previously, Bobbie served in leadership roles at Edward Elmhurst Health, most recently as Chief Medical Officer, where she had responsibility for quality and safety, clinical research, information technology and patient experience. Before that, she served as Chief Information Officer, overseeing multiple implementations and initiatives. Bobbie has also held roles in software development and consulting. 

Bobbie received her bachelor’s degree in history from Northwestern University, where she also completed medical school. She finished her pediatrics residency at Children’s Memorial Medical Center in Chicago, is board certified in both pediatrics and clinical informatics, and practiced pediatrics in Chicago. She also received her MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
