CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 4, 2026 — Advocate Health today announced that 14 of the health system’s hospitals were named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals list, reflecting the organization’s continued commitment to delivering world-class care close to home.
The annual list recognizes hospitals that excel in delivering high-quality care across a range of specialties, procedures and conditions. This year, Advocate Health hospitals across Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina and Wisconsin achieved 296 recognitions at both the national and regional levels.
Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center earned the top spot among hospitals in the Charlotte metropolitan area and ranked No. 2 in the state. In the Milwaukee metropolitan area, Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, which includes services provided at Aurora Sinai Medical Center and Aurora St. Luke’s South Shore, earned the No. 1 ranking.
Advocate Health hospitals also earned significant recognition for specialty care. Across the health system, hospitals received a combined 204 high performing ratings for procedures and conditions, and 19 high performing specialty designations, signifying performance in the top 10% nationally. In addition, the hospitals earned 10 national specialty rankings, including:

- No. 19 in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- No. 42 in Pulmonary and Lung Surgery
- No. 44 in Cardiology

- No. 18 in Rehabilitation
- Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center (Milwaukee, Wisconsin)
- No. 29 in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Aurora Sinai Medical Center)

New in 2026, U.S. News introduced state and metropolitan rankings for four specialties — cardiology, orthopedics, rehabilitation and cancer care — helping patients identify top-performing specialty programs close to home. U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 14 adult specialties and 23 procedures and conditions for its “Best Hospitals” designation. To determine the best hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and patient satisfaction.
