CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 3, 2025 — Advocate Health today announced the appointment of Adam Samson as president of the Advocate Health National Center for Clinical Trials, a first-of-its-kind, fully integrated solution designed to accelerate discovery and make participation in clinical research part of the standard of care for patients across the United States. Samson will join the organization beginning Dec. 8, where he will lead the nation’s largest and most inclusive clinical trial network.
Samson brings a proven track record in clinical trial operations, digital health and organizational leadership, with experience at Walgreens, Curebase, the Duke Clinical Research Institute and in advisory roles with HLTH Inc. and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Under Samson’s leadership, Advocate Health National Center for Clinical Trials will expand access, drive innovation and deliver breakthrough treatments to patients everywhere.
“Advocate Health is committed to redefining care for all, and the appointment of Adam Samson as president of our National Center for Clinical Trials is a key milestone as we bring to life our vision to change the paradigm of the clinical trial ecosystem,” said Dr. Ebony Boulware, Advocate Health’s chief science officer and dean of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. “Adam’s depth of expertise in clinical trial operations, and his experience building new programs, combined with his passion for expanding access to clinical trials are exactly what we need to deliver more medical breakthroughs, for all.”
Samson brings more than 25 years of experience in clinical trial operations, early-stage scaling and operational build-outs, including most recently serving as Walgreen’s head of clinical delivery operations for RWE Clinical Trials.
“I’m incredibly energized to lead the Advocate Health National Center for Clinical Trials team,” Samson said. “Together, we’re going to reshape discovery into care, creating a research and care delivery system where clinical trials are embedded into care, access is expanded and innovation is measurable.”
In addition to his experience at Walgreens, Samson has served as head of clinical operations for Curebase, and in other clinical trial roles at Ciesi Group and Duke Clinical Research Institute. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member of The George Washington University, advisory board member for HLTH and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
