Healthy communities are essential to the well-being of our patients and the future of health care. That's why we're incredibly grateful for our long-standing partnership with Pepper Construction, a relationship that underscores our shared mission of building a healthier future for all.
Pepper Construction is much more than a leader in innovative construction solutions. It is also deeply invested in the communities it serves. Its steadfast support of Advocate Health Care and Aurora Health Care is a long-term dedication, demonstrated by its nearly four decades of support for vital community initiatives.
Looking back at the roots of this partnership, Pepper Construction first got involved in 1987, supporting what was then Illinois Masonic Medical Center, now Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, to help the hospital fulfill its mission of providing patients with the highest quality care in Chicagoland. This early partnership laid the foundation for a lasting relationship built on shared values and a commitment to improving lives.
"We believe in the power of community and the importance of improving the well-being of those around us," says Scot Pepper, President of Pepper Construction. "Our partnership with Advocate Health Care and Aurora Health Care allows us to extend our efforts to build healthy environments beyond the construction site, directly impacting the lives of patients and families in the communities we serve.”
One shining example of this partnership is Pepper Construction's support of Advocate Christ Medical Center's Food Farmacy program. Through their volunteerism, they work to ensure patients can access fresh produce and nutritional guidance. Their contribution of time is crucial for individuals managing nutrition-related illnesses like diabetes and hypertension who may not otherwise have access to such critical resources. "We're not just helping to provide food; we're offering encouragement, connection and a supportive environment," says Scot.
Beyond their volunteer efforts, Pepper Construction has supported many energetic initiatives, such as Aurora Family Services’ Thanksgiving food drives, ensuring hundreds of families in need have a warm meal during the holiday season, the Advocate Children's Golf Classic, supporting the children and families cared for at Advocate Children's Hospital, Advocate's Trauma Recovery Center, aiding individuals who have experienced trauma in rebuilding, restoring and strengthening their sense of safety, breast cancer programs and more.
