JPCRR recognizes contributors

Advocate Aurora Research Institute’s Journal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews (JPCRR) celebrated its 10th birthday by doing what it does best — releasing a new quarterly issue of peer-reviewed original research focused on the delivery of patient-centered care and improving the health of all patients.

Attracting more than half a million readers from around the world since its launch in 2014, JPCRR remains committed to an open access publication policy that allows both professional and lay readers to access articles online free of charge. Its latest batch of novel study findings is now available in Volume 10, Issue 1.

In addition to research, this issue includes a supplemental publication acknowledging all the peer reviewers who volunteered their expertise in 2022 by evaluating original submissions to the journal and identifying areas for improvement.

“Insightful peer review is essential to a scientific journal maintaining high quality standards,” Managing Editor Joe Grundle said. “JPCRR would not have grown as successfully as it has without the generous intellectual contributions of so many clinical, health research and administrative scholars, many of whom are part of our own organization.

“I encourage all of our 2022 peer reviewers to cite this published supplement as evidence of their recent scholarly activity, and also encourage those who haven’t yet reviewed for JPCRR but are interested to contact our editorial team.”

The JPCRR Editorial Office can be reached at JPCRR@aah.org.

Newly published articles cover the following research topics:

  • Impact of perioperative dexamethasone on length of hospital stay for patients with type 2 diabetes undergoing total hip arthroplasty;
  • Family expectations at the time of their child’s admission to a hospital;
  • Quality of life in a global population of those with acute leukemia;
  • Comparison of parental in-person visitation to webcam usage in a NICU; and
  • Correlation of neighborhood condition prevalence rates to COVID-19 mortality.

Published by Advocate Aurora Health, the Journal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews is a PubMed-indexed medical journal dedicated to scholarly works aimed at improving patient-centered care practices, health outcomes and patient experiences. Quarterly JPCRR circulation exceeds 30,000 readers hailing from around the world.
